Sarah Tran was born in Seattle, Washington. She first came to Passages Northwest as a curious 7th grader who wanted to learn how to rock climb, even though she was terrified of coming down once she got to the top. She has come a long way since then, and returned as a field instructor in 2006. She is finishing her undergraduate degree with a concentration on ethnic studies and communications, with additional coursework in law and human services. Her passion in life is to help people embrace the power within--whether that means speaking up with those who are oppressed or encouraging a girl to keep on singing as she treks over boulders on a backpacking trip. She indulges in three things: love, social justice, and warm chocolate chip cookies with milk.
