It’s a New Program designed for middle school girls who have completed a Girls Rock! Program and want to take it to the next level. Girls Rock On! will build on the community and climbing knowledge from Girls Rock! and begin to emphasize and develop personal leadership.

Sessions are held after school at Seattle Vertical World, a climbing gym in Magnolia. Students will participate in the LEADERSHIP Project – 1-hour for the girls to explore and practice leadership in community by developing a project of personal expression and inquisitive courage through the creative arts.

Girls will team with a different mentor and peer each week to challenge themselves physically and develop climbing techniques. Climbing and leadership skills will be enhanced with the opportunity to teach peers and newer climbers at the gym. We will also spend a weekend outside two and a half hours east of Seattle near the town of Vantage. We will camp overnight and climb on real rock. Our session culminates in a graduation celebration for the girls, mentors, friends and families.

We believe the unique metaphors present in climbing, authentic opportunities for leadership, and genuine relationships in a supportive community will ignite the passion and potential in girls to create a vision for a better world.
